Apply to Exhibit at FSU Digitech

DIGITECH is a showcase of student innovations with technology. FSU DIGITECH is now seeking student and department exhibitors to demonstrate their innovations with technology. View past DIGITECH exhibits at http://www.digitech.fsu.edu/gallery. 

If you (FSU students) are working on a project that innovates with technology (e.g. apps, games, art, and so on.) individually or in a group, you can apply to present your exhibit at 2015 FSU DIGITECH. All you need is a title and description for an exhibit. The application due is March 20th, 2015.

All applications which meet the requirements of a DIGITECH exhibit below will be accepted and published to the DIGITECH online gallery. 

• Innovation: The creation of a novel technology
• Expression: The application of a technology towards a creative work.
• Enterpreneurship: A business plan for a technological project or service 
• Contribution: A technology or use of technology which benefits others

And a team of judges will select 50 DIGITECH finalists to show their work at the DIGITECH event. DIGITECH finalists will receive certificates and t-shirts. The judges will also select exhibits to receive special DIGITECH Trophies in the four areas above and even attendees will decide which exhibit should received the "Campus Choice Award."

Call for Participants: 2014 Early Career Symposium

AECT's Research and Theory Division announced the call for participants for the 2014 Early Career Symposium sponsored by the National Science Foundation: Cyberlearning and Future Learning Technologies. The symposium will engage participants in a day and a half of focused career mentoring and networking. It will also reimburse each participant with $200 for transportation, 2 nights at the convention hotel, and convention registration fee.

• When: November 4 (full day) and November 5 (half day), 2014
• Where: At the annual AECT International Convention (the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront in Jacksonville, Florida)
• Application Deadline: September 20th, 2014

The intended outcomes

• Mentoring of doctoral student into the social/professional network as partners in ideation, prototyping, idea execution, and knowledge curation;
• Supporting early-career faculty and doctoral students in developing viable short- and long-term cyberlearning research agendas;
• Providing specific feedback and guidance to early-career faculty and doctoral students about their research agendas (e.g. how to build a research agenda, pursue funding, and maintain successful collaborations);
• Expanding and strengthening the cyberlearning community by creating a community of researchers committed to designing the next generation of learning technologies and increasing understanding of how people learn in technology rich-learning environments.

Eligibility

• Must be AECT members in good standing
• Must have not participated in a previous Early Career Symposia
• Must be current doctoral graduate students or faculty (within first five years of career) 
• Applicants will be selected based upon their strength of argument for participation. Additionally, the Review Panel seeks to accept a diverse group of scholars representing the entirety of the membership of AECT.

• Cover letter discussing career goals, including description of dissertation and progress toward completion. Also, it should discuss how they are qualified for the Early Career Symposium and how it would benefit their careers (limit to a single page)
• Updated Curriculum Vita 
• Statement Supporting participation from dissertation advisor (limit to one paragraph)

Faculty applicants

• Cover letter providing a career statement as well as discussing why they would like to attend the Early Career Symposium, how they are qualified and how it would benefit their careers (limit to a single page)

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

"FDG 2012, the International Conference on the Foundations of Digital Games,
is a focal point for academic efforts in all areas of research and education
involving games, game technologies, gameplay, and game design. The goal of
the conference is the advancement of the study of digital games, including
new game technologies, capabilities, designs, applications, educational
uses, and modes of play.

We invite researchers and educators to submit to FDG 2012 and share insights
and cutting-edge research related to game technologies and their use. FDG
2012 will include presentations of peer-reviewed papers, invited talks by
high-profile industry and academic leaders, panels, and posters. The
conference will also host an interactive game demo session as well as
Doctoral Consortium sessions. The Doctoral Consortium serves as a forum for
young researchers and graduate students to present their work, exchange
experiences with peers, discuss ideas for future research and receive
feedback from established games researchers and the wider FDG community. The game festival event will showcase the latest experimental and research games and game technology created by university students and academic or industrial research groups. In addition, the conference organizers invite workshop proposals. Workshops are full-day and half-day sessions focused on emerging game topics, particularly those that bridge different communities. "

AACE Global TIME Call for Presentations

The deadline for virtual presentations for the online conference, AACE Global TIME: Global Conference on Technology, Innovation, Media & Education is November 30th. There are a variety of themes and topics this year.

The conference is being held from February 22-24, 2011 and is entirely online. There will be a variety of live sessions at various time zones and all sessions will be recorded for the attendee's convenience.
