Hi, ISLT family
I hope all of us are experiencing a smooth transition back into the swing of things. I am informing you that we have social events on Friday.
Please join us at Madison Social on campus from 5:30-8:00 pm, Jan 29, Friday to have our professional development networking. Also, it’s our chance to say goodbye and express best wishes to our dear friends: Kadir, Secil, and Mithat before they leave for Turkey. Just let you know, they are 2015-2016 visiting scholars from Turkey. They are great friends.
If you like, you can first join the Grad Student Social in Dirac Science Library, Second Floor on January 29th, Friday from 4 - 6 PM. There you will meet and mingle with graduate students and post-docs across disciplines with complimentary drinks and cookies! After that, you can head to Madison Social.
Please visit Madison Social link to check the location and parking options.
See you there!

Congratulations! Dr. Valerie Shute is featured in 2016 National Educational Technology Plan
Dr. Valerie Shute is featured in the recently released 2016 U.S. Department of Education - National Education Technology Plan. It is the flagship educational technology policy document.
Dr. Shute's work was recognized for exhibiting some of the actions and attributes key to transforming learning through technology.
"I'm honored to have my research showcased," Dr. Shute said. "In addition to describing my ideas about using assessment to support learning via real-time feedback and within game environments, a section is devoted to my stealth or 'embedded' assessment work."

The 2016 National Education Technology Plan, Future Ready Learning: Reimagining the Role of Technology in Education, articulates a vision of equity, active use and collaborative leadership to make everywhere, all-the-time learning possible. While acknowledging the continuing need to provide greater equity of access to technology itself, the plan goes further to call upon all involved in American education to ensure equity of access to transformational learning experiences enabled by technology.
